What should I do about a wasp nest while I wait?
Leave it alone and keep people and pets away from it. Do not spray it, hose it or knock it down. Disturbing a nest makes wasps aggressive and dramatically increases the chance of multiple stings, which is dangerous for anyone with an allergy. Close nearby windows and doors, keep children and pets well clear, note exactly where the nest is, and let a licensed technician deal with it.
I have found live termites. What now?
Stop, and do not disturb them any further. Do not spray them, break open more of the damaged timber or the mud tunnelling, or try a hardware-store product. Disturbed termites simply abandon that area and continue elsewhere in the building, which makes the colony harder to find and harder to treat. Cover what you have opened, leave it alone, and call a licensed termite technician so the colony can be treated properly.
